John Hele was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ING Group on 24 April 2007. He is also chief financial officer. Mr Hele started his career with ING in 2003.

Education:
John Hele graduated from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
Professional career:
1980-1987	Crown Life, Toronto, Canada - various actuarial, finance and business roles.
1988-1999	Merrill Lynch, New York, US: Private Client Division, marketing and finance; Corporate Division, investment banker.
1999-2003	Worldinsure, Bermuda – insurance technology entrepreneur.
2003-2006	ING Group, Amsterdam, the Netherlands - general manager and chief insurance risk officer.
2006-2007	ING Group, Amsterdam, the Netherlands - deputy CFO of ING Group.
