Jim Rogers, Head of Growth and Strategic Services, Grant Thornton UK LLP
Jim Rogers is the head of Growth and Strategic Services for Grant Thornton UK LLP. He delivers strategic and commercial involvement to fast growing, ambitious mid-corporate companiesparticularly those businesses expanding overseas.
He entered the accountancy profession in Birmingham during 1984 after reading politics at Durham University and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1988. Over the years Jim has looked after clients in a wide range of industries with a particular specialism in technology and property.
Joining Grant Thornton in 1990, Jim was promoted to partner in 1993 at the age of 30. He worked in the Aylesbury and Oxford offices, before moving to the London Thames Valley office in the summer of 2004.
At a national level Jim has had various responsibilities during his time as a partner, including overseeing the firm's marketing and selling for two years in the early 2000s.
Jim was appointed Head of Growth and Strategic Services for Grant Thornton in the UK on 1 July 2004.
Leading and building teams throughout the UK is part of Jim's daily role. He also currently works closely with Cranfield on their Business Growth Programme aimed at ambitious entrepreneurs.
Jim is an experienced advisory partner and regular commentator in the media on issues facing owner-managed businesses, and is a member of the CBI SME Councils.
He has recently advised the Public Oversight Board of Auditors on the accounting needs for SMEs.
