Increasing the number of well-known Galician brands with a presence at international level is the main objective of the programme for brands with major international potential (MAPI programme) developed in Galicia with the support of the IGAPE.
The aim of this programme is to accelerate the process of consolidation of Galician brands with major international potential in foreign countries, reducing the risks of this process and contributing towards achieving a higher number of brands that are capable of acting as ambassadors for Galician products and services abroad.
The Galician companies who form a part of this programme include Roberto Verino, José Posada Marrón Glace, Adolfo Domínguez, Zara, Pescanova, Televes, Calvo, Rodman and Coren.
The Galician Government also supports the development and internationalisation of brands through the “Galicia Calidade” (Galicia Quality) certification, which includes some of the largest and most important brands from Galicia that stand out for their excellence.
A total of 35 companies and 110 products currently hold the “Galicia Calidade” certification, of which 95% are in the foodstuff sector, making this a strategic sector to promote confidence and security amongst consumers.
